  • Building a Mycenaean chamber tomb catalogue from terrestrial laser scan data

Open Access•Israel Gutiérrez, Roderik Lindenbergh et al.•ARTICLE•Digital Applications in…•2024•References: 18

Detailed 3D information on vulnerable archaeological sites can document cultural heritage and contribute to its preservation. The Late Bronze Age Mycenaean cemetery of Aidonia, Greece, is a representative case of a vulnerable site. Tomb looting has occurred sporadically since the 1970s, when the Greek government was made aware of the site. Anthropogenic activities and natural denudation may affect the loss of structural integrity of tombs. In thi…

  • Framing Effects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Depression on Perceptions of Believability, Acceptability, and Credibility

Open Access•Saba Salimuddin, Shadi Beshai et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

While CBT is an effective treatment for depression, uptake can be low. This is largely due to attitudinal barriers. Accordingly, the goals of the current investigation were to (a) tailor and develop persuasive psychoeducational materials to match dominant cultural beliefs about the causes of depression and (b) examine the effectiveness of tailored CBT descriptions in improving CBT perceptions. We examined the believability of CBT mechanisms by in…

  • Global ecosystem service values in climate class transitions

Open Access•Lisa Watson, Menno Straatsma et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2019

Ecosystem service assessments facilitate the valuation of nature and support decision-making. Ecosystem services are connected to climate; however, ecosystem service values affected by climate change remain unclear. We mapped global ecosystem service values totaling ∼1.3 trillion international dollars for 2005. Transitions in Köppen–Geiger climate classes projected with General Circulation Models under the four IPCC Representative Concentration P…

  • Geographic disparities in late-stage cancer diagnosis

    Open Access•Lee Rivers Mobley, Tzy-Mey Kuo et al.•ARTICLE•Health & Place•2012•Cited by: 2•References: 6

  • Spatial Heterogeneity in Cancer Control Planning and Cancer Screening Behavior

Lee Rivers Mobley, Tzy-Mey Kuo et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of the Association of…•2012•Cited by: 4•References: 13

Each state is autonomous in its comprehensive cancer control (CCC) program, and considerable heterogeneity exists in the program plans. However, researchers often focus on the concept of nationally representative data and pool observations across states using regression analysis to come up with average effects when interpreting results. Due to considerable state autonomy and heterogeneity in various dimensions-including culture, politics, histori…

  • Message Content in Canadian Automotive Advertising

Lisa Watson, Anne M Lavack et al.•ARTICLE•Canadian Public Policy•2010•References: 2

The message content of automotive advertising was examined to determine whether automotive advertising is meeting the needs of its stakeholders, and whether there is a need for it to become more highly regulated. A content analysis of 200 Canadian television and print advertisements revealed that 18 percent of ads demonstrate unsafe or aggressive driving, while 25 percent of ads feature safety mentions. Television ads are substantially more likel…
