Contribution à l'étude des céramiques médiévales et modernes hennuyères
A number of chance discoveries of medieval potteries made in Southern Hainault during those last years are bringing some important contributions to the study of grey and black ceramics for the making of which five new centres have been located : Bavai, Pont-sur-Sambre, Avesnes-sur-Helpe, Larouillies and Maroilles. The imported terracottas chiefly come from the Dutch South-Limburg, the Rhine region and the mosan workshops in Andenne

J.-L. Boucly : Discovery of medieval and modern potteries at Landrecies (district of Avesnes- on-Helpe). In 1973 an excavation showing three archaeological strata rich in fragments of potteries was studied in Landrecies (district of Avesnes-on-Helpe). The examination of those fragments gives evidence of uninterrupted occupation from the second half of the 14th century to the 18th century

J.-L. Boucly : A few accidental discoveries at Etroeungt and at Larouillies : ceramics and Roman way. In 1975 the trench dug across Avesnois to install a gas pipe-line cut through a small Roman dwelling and a Roman way at Etroeungt. At Larouillies it allowed partial observations on the remnants of a 14th century potter's workshop
