This article explores the movement of children between households in Zambia as a site of 'moral navigation'. Moral navigation extends Henrik Vigh's concept of social navigation from contexts of conflict and migration to more socially stable contexts in which well-being depends critically on people's ability to manage relationships. Assessing the delivery of alcohol screening and brief intervention in sexual health clinics in the north east of England
It is possible to embed alcohol screening into routine practice within sexual health services however further work is required to embed brief interventions particularly amongst increasing risk drinkers. If resources are limited, services may consider more targeted rather than universal alcohol screening to specific population groups. Understanding China's Minorities Through Learning Chinese
This paper analyses representations of Chinese ethnic minority groups in 13 Chinese-as-a-second-language (CSL) textbooks. Through qualitative and quantitative analysis, it finds that, when present in CSL texts, these portrayals tend to provide the foreign student with a picture of prototypical minorities that sing and dance and are rural, while also focusing on their unique traditional customs and festivals. Children who were scheduled for medical examination before entering school were followed in school one or two years later. Non-attenders had a two-fold risk of repeating grades, special class placement, referral for speech/language problems, teacher-reported learning or behavior problems, failure of vision or hearing screening, and transfer between schools.
