  • Educational Activities and National Movement of Choi Neung-jin, Physical Education Professor at Soongsil College

Hye-Mi Park•ARTICLE•The Historical Association for…•2025

  • Estimating Civic Awareness and Willingness to Pay (WTP) for Rooftop Greenhouses

Open Access•Sung–Ho Kil, Hye-Mi Park et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of People, Plants, and…•2024

Background and objective: In hardscape-dominated cities, rooftop greenhouses(RGs) are considered a viable alternative for providing high-quality food, greenery, and experiences to citizens. However, existing research has predominantly focused on conventional urban agriculture, and rooftop greenhouses remain under-researched on an international scale. In this study, we use the contingent valuation method (CVM) to estimate the willingness to pay (W…

  • Planting Structures and Carbon Reduction Effects of Urban Greenspaces in Reclaimed Coastal Areas

Open Access•Hyun-Kil Jo, Hye-Mi Park et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of People, Plants, and…•2024

Background and objective: In order to enhance the contribution of urban greenspaces to carbon uptake, it is essential to assess the carbon reduction effects of these areas. Accordingly, this study examined the planting structures and carbon reduction effects of urban greenspaces in reclaimed coastal areas (RCAs), which are characterized by unique growth conditions, such as high salinity, that distinguish them from inland areas. Methods: Field surv…

  • The Analysis of Research Trends and Public Awareness of Smart Farms using Text Mining

Open Access•Sung–Ho Kil, Hye-Mi Park et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of People, Plants, and…•2023

Background and objective: To deal with recent issues such as climate change, rural aging, food security, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, there is a growing interest in smart farms that can efficiently produce food with ICT. In response to the international issues, this study analyzed articles on smart farms published in international journals and KCI journals as well as Instagram hashtags through text mining and identified relevant research…

  • Improvement of the Planting Method to Increase the Carbon Reduction Capacity of Urban Street Trees

Open Access•Jin-Young Kim, Jin‐Young Kim et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of People, Plants, and…•2021

Background and objective: Urban street trees play an important role in carbon reduction in cities where greenspace is scarce. There are ongoing studies on carbon reduction by street trees. However, information on the carbon reduction capacity of street trees based on field surveys is still limited. This study aimed to quantify carbon uptake and storage by urban street trees and suggest a method to improve planting of trees in order to increase th…
