Citizen Interest in Collaborative Crime Prevention
This research explores whether beliefs about the police grounded in instrumental, normative, and expressive models of policing correlate with citizen interest in collaborating with the police to prevent crime. The effects of nonresponse and follow-up mailings on a citizen survey of law enforcement services
Law enforcement agencies in many countries conduct surveys to learn about community opinions and concerns but low response rates can raise doubts about the generalizability of the results. This study examined differences between responders vs. nonresponders, and early vs. late responders, in a mailed survey of citizen satisfaction about law enforcement, and whether survey estimates changed with follow-up mailings. Using Neural Networks to Identify Patients Unlikely to Achieve a Reduction in Bodily Pain After Total Hip Replacement Surgery
OBJECTIVES: Fourteen patient-provided variables were chosen as potential predictors for improvement after total hip replacement surgery. Anthropometric analysis of the face in hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia
Sixteen individuals with hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (HED) were compared to normal standards as well as to 16 unaffected family members by using a series of 20 anthropometric measurements of the head and face. Individuals with HED were generally smaller than normal controls or their unaffected relatives. However, this size reduction was not uniform.
