  • Tracing the tin-opacified yellow glazed ceramics in the western Islamic world

Open Access•Elena Salinas Pleguezuelo, Trinitat Pradell et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeological and Anthropological…•2019•Citada por: 8•Referências: 8

A small group of opaque yellow glazed sherds has recently been identified among the ceramics excavated at the Islamic city of Madinat al-Zahra’ near Cordoba, in al-Andalus (southern Spain), which was founded in 936 AD as the seat of the Umayyad Caliphate power. • A ground penetrating radar survey at rowbury copse banjo enclosure wiltshire

Open Access•Christopher Meats, Michael Tite et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeological Prospection•1995

A ground penetrating radar survey was carried out at the Rowbury Copse banjo enclosure. Although some reflections were obtained from below the surface, the ditch that formed the banjo enclosure did not appear to be their source. In order to try and explain why these results were obtained the electromagnetic properties of samples of the topsoil, ditch fill and chalk were measured in the laboratory. These measurements showed that the electromagneti…

  • An Intercomparison of Some AMS and Small Gas Counter Laboratories

Open Access•Richard Burleigh, Morven Leese et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1986•Citada por: 4•Referências: 3

The performance of six laboratories with the capacity to date small samples (4 AMS and 2 small gas-counter laboratories) has been compared using 100mg samples of textiles from Ancient Egypt and Peru, with the British Museum laboratory acting as independent coordinator. This intercomparison was one of normal practices and has demonstrated that a coherent series of results can be obtained when several laboratories undertake blindfold measurements, …
