Smoke-free signage in public parks
This study provides evidence on the impact of smoke-free signage not supported by local ordinance in public parks using a reproducible measure. States, especially those with a preemptive clause legislation, may benefit from incorporating smoke-free signage in public areas to protect community members from exposure to tobacco smoke, reduce littering, and denormalise smoking
Cracking down on youth tobacco may influence drug use
This study evaluated the influence of tobacco possession–use–purchase (PUP) law enforcement and illicit drug use and offers. Twenty‐four towns were randomly assigned into two conditions. Both conditions focused on reducing minors' access to commercial sources of tobacco. Two primary outlets for community psychology research, the American Journal of Community Psychology and the Journal of Community Psychology, were assessed to rank institutions based on publication frequency and scientific influence of publications over a 32‐year period.
