Since technologies can fail, with the simplest example of a tablet running low in battery on a two-hour flight, pilots need to be prepared to continue their flight without jeopardizing their own and the public safety. In this digital era, pilots need to stay informed of the emerging technologies and be trained accordingly so that new technologies improve their flying experiences without putting public safety at risk

Deaf Sex Offenders in a Prison Population
Very little is known about deaf sex offenders. This descriptive study of a population of 41 deaf sex offenders incarcerated by the state of Texas provides information about the prevalence of sexual offenders in the deaf prison population, the educational achievement and IQ scores of deaf offenders, and the incidence of secondary disabilities in this population. Religiosity and Attitudes toward Suicide
The relationship between religiosity and attitudes toward suicide was assessed in a sample of 186 Christian adults, most affiliated with churches or church-related organizations. A significant correlational pattern was obtained, such that persons higher on religiosity tended to perceive suicide as reflective of mental illness, as less of a cry for help, as not being an individual's prerogative, as highly related to a lack of religious influence, …

Effects of counselling on knowledge about HIV-1 among transfusion recipients and their partners
The present study determined how much HIV-1-positive persons knew about AIDS, and HIV-1 transmission and prevention, in comparison with HIV-1-negative controls in a predominantly heterosexual cohort. The subjects were blood donors, blood recipients, hemophiliacs, and their sexual partners. A 16-item questionnaire about AIDS, HIV-1 transmission, and knowledge of safe sexual practices was administered to 228 subjects to determine background informa…
