A Cross-Cultural Mate Selection Study of Chinese and U.S. Men and Women
Using data on 333 never-married heterosexual Chinese adults and 339 never-married heterosexual U.S. adults, we tested a mate selection model with multiple-group structural equation modeling. Chinese and American Individuals' Mate Selection Pressures
In this study, we compared Chinese and American never-married heterosexual adults' self-reported mate selection pressures and write-in responses on perceived mate selection pressures for men and women, respectively (N = 918; 489 Chinese and 429 Americans). In this study, we compared Chinese and American never-married heterosexual adults' minimum mate selection criteria ( N = 1,260) and write-in responses on additional criteria important in mate selection ( N = 756). The Wiki as a Virtual Space for Qualitative Data Collection
The authors make a case for using wiki technology in qualitative research. A wiki is an online database that allows users to create, edit, and/or reflect on the content of a web page. Thus, wiki technology can support qualitative research that attempts to understand the shared thinking of participants. To illustrate the use of the wiki for this purpose, we describe how we used wiki technology in one phase of a recent Delphi study

The purpose of this paper is to reflect on our efforts to balance consistency in our multi-year participatory action research study with the need to adapt our research protocol to what we are learning along the way. This article describes the efficacy of two family-oriented, outpatient drug interventions for 84 adolescents who had used and abused drugs. Together, the two brief drug interventions appeared to significantly reduce the drug use of nearly one-half of the adolescentts who received the two family-focused drug interventions.
