Minoan archaeology in the Athens 2004 Olympic Games
The Athens 2004 Olympic Games presented an opportunity for Greece to celebrate its ancient traditions and modern organizational skills. This paper discusses the representation and teaching of the Minoan civilization (Crete, c. 3000–1400 BC) in Greek primary education. Unlike Classical civilization, the Minoan civilization is a period less charged with nationalistic connotations.
