Introduction
These Explorations argue that more links between the fields of feminist ecology and feminist economics are both needed and promising, and presents new, boundary-crossing research in this area. It brings together contributions from various regions in the world that link political action and experience in practice and research in an economic theorizing that includes both environmental and feminist concerns

Feminism in the Mau Mau Resurgence
We argue that there is a resurgence of Mau Mau in Kenya and that at its forefront are the demands and actions of landless women. The Mau Mau war against colonialism inspired millions in their struggles during the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. The continuation of the anti-imperial struggle on the African continent in the 1980s and 1990s expanded into the anti-corporate globalization movement of the 2000s. This study is an inquiry into why women were at war with oil companies in Nigeria and how they internationalized their struggle. Employing the Midnight Notes Collective's concept of "the new enclosures"; Shiva, Mies, and Bennholdt-Thomsen's "subsistence perspective"; and McMurtry's concept of the "civil commons," the study elaborates a "gendered class analysis" to consider the social anatomy of coordinated global actions by producers and consumer…

This study traces the struggles in Kenya of two groups of landless women to assert control over their own labour in agricultural production in the decade 1986–1997.
