Psychometric performance of the social networks addiction risk questionnaire (Cars‐R)
Short Version of the Social Networks Addiction Risk Questionnaire (Cars-R)
Recent scientific literature shows evidence that social media addiction negatively impacts people's mental health. In this sense, network models offer a methodological framework that naturally allows the study of mental health disorders' complexity. Therefore, the study aims to study the psychometric properties of CARS-R from the perspective of psychometric networks. A sample of 1,719 adults of both sexes (38.3% men and 61.7% women) between the a…
Grief and Posttraumatic Growth in Individuals Who Have Experienced the Death of a Loved One From Six Latin American Countries
This study assessed the relationship between grief and posttraumatic growth (PTG) in 2415 individuals from six Latin American countries, and how the relationship between these variables is moderated by gender and age. The Posttraumatic Growth Inventory-Short Form and Pandemic Grief Scale were used. Moderation analysis utilized Model 2, proposed by Hayes. The findings from the analysis indicate that the proposed regression model is statistically s…
Cross-Cultural Validity of the Grief Impairment Scale (GIS)
The Grief Impairment Scale (GIS) is used to measure functional impairment due to grief following the death of a loved one. However, there is no information on its cross-cultural utility. Thus, this study assessed the measurement invariance of the GIS using a large sample of bereaved adults ( N = 2060) from Peru, El Salvador, Ecuador, and Colombia. Specifically, we employed two measurement invariance techniques: multi-group confirmatory factor ana…
Which self-stigma of seeking help (SSOSH) version has adequate psychometric properties? An analysis of the SEM approach and network psychometrics in the Peruvian sample
Adaptation of the conflict tactics scales (CTS-2), in a Peruvian male sample
Intimate couple violence, including physical, psychological, verbal, and sexual, is a public health concern. The Conflict Tactics Scales (CTS-2) measure conflict resolution tactics. This research adapted the scale to a sample of 423 Peruvian men. The age range of the sample was from 21 to 60 years. A committee of 10 experts evaluated the validity of the CTS-2, and the Aiken V validity coefficients were calculated. A confirmatory factor analysis w…
New psychometric evidence from the Revised Mental Health Inventory (R-MHI-5) in Peruvian adolescents from a network psychometrics approach
It is concluded that the R-MHI-5 is an instrument with robust psychometric evidence from the perspective of the EGA and CFA, providing adequate evidence of reliability and validity so that it can be used effectively in future research and prevention and intervention processes. Furthermore, our study is the first to provide psychometric evidence of the scale from a media approach in Peruvian adolescents
New Psychometric Evidence of the Grief Impairment Scale (GIS) in People Who Have Experienced the Death of a Loved One From a Network Psychometric Approach in Two Latin American Countries
This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Grief Impairment Scale (GIS) using a network psychometric model. A total of 1048 individuals from Peru and El Salvador participated. A network psychometric model was used to determine internal structure, reliability, and cross-country invariance. The results indicate that the GIS items were grouped into a single network structure through Exploratory Graph Analysis. Reliability was es…
Psychometric network analysis of the Patient Health Questionnaire-4 (PHQ-4) in Paraguayan general population
Background Depression and anxiety are two of the most prevalent and disabling mental disorders worldwide, both in the general population and in outpatient clinical settings. Objective This study aimed to analyze the psychometric properties of the Patient Health Questionnaire-4 (PHQ-4) based on network analysis metrics. Methods A total of 911 Paraguayans (23.71% women and 76.29% men; mean age 31.25 years, SD = 10.63), selected by non-probabilistic…
Short Version of the Social Networks Addiction Risk Questionnaire (Cars-R)
Meaning of life questionnaire (MLQ) in peruvian undergraduate students
It is concluded that the MLQ from the perspective of CTT has shown adequate evidence of reliability and validity. Therefore, it could be used in future studies and evaluation and intervention processes. In addition, the study provides the first evidence of the psychometric functioning of the scale in university students from Latin America
