Diversity in auxology
Auxology has developed from mere describing child and adolescent growth into a vivid and interdisciplinary research area encompassing human biologists, physicians, social scientists, economists and biostatisticians. The meeting illustrated the diversity in auxology, with the various social, medical, biological and biostatistical aspects in studies on child growth and development.

ヨーロッパ人類学会(EAA)は1976年に創設された。その目的は,互いに情報や意見の交換を行いヨーロッパ諸国の人類学研究や人類学教育を推進していくことである。会員数は現在,主にヨーロッパ諸国30ヶ国以上からの500余名である。ニュース・レターが年2~3回配布され,また,二年に一度書籍が出版されている。学術大会は二年に一度ヨーロッパの各地で開催され,200余名の参加がある。大学院生を対象に人類学に関する講習会が2007年開催された。学会費は各国の経済状態により異なる

Tooth Size of People in Wabag, Papua New Guinea Highlanders and its Comparison with Pacific Peoples
Dental casts were recently collected from Highlanders in Kasi Village of Wabag in Enga Province of Papua New Guinea (PNG). Mean age of subjects was 19.2 years ranged from 16 to 44. The mesiodistal and buccolingual diameters of all upper and lower teeth (except third molars) were measured. Sex differences of these diameters were relatively large in this population compared with other Pacific populations. The results were compared with previous rep…
Sexual dimorphism in the relationship between number of emerged permanent teeth and percentage of adult stature
The relationship between the number of emerged teeth and statural growth was investigated in a sample of 31 boys and 42 girls followed longitudinally from 6–12 years of age. The number of emerged permanent teeth was counted on the total number of plaster dental casts. Seven body dimensions of 35 Japanese children, 15 boys and 20 girls, were measured longitudinally at six-monthly intervals from 9 through 15 years of age. Spline curves were fitted to each dimension to obtain age at peak velocity and magnitude of peak velocity for each child. Relative growth of hand bone length to width by longitudinal investigation
Although many studies of the hand bone growth have done, there were few reports on their longitudinal study. In this article, the hand bone growth of longitudinal materials was studied from the standpoint of the relative growth.Radiographs of the hand bone of 16 boys and 21 girls were taken from 9 to 15 years of age at 6 month intervals. As for the adolescent growth of height and weight from the cross sectional growth studies, age at peak height velocity (APHV) generally comes earlier than age at peak weight velocity (APWV) in both sexes. Skin and subcutaneous adipose tissue weights in older Japanese determined by cadaver dissection
Forty-six embalmed cadavers of elderly Japanese 48 to 95 years of age, 35 males and 10 females, were completely dissected, and the weights of skin and subcutaneous adipose tissue were determined. Absolute and relative skin weight in males (2.68 kg, 5.7%) were similar to those in females (2.73 kg, 6.1%).
