The Third Version of the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire
INTRODUCTION: A new third version of the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ III) has been developed in response to trends in working life, theoretical concepts, and international experience. A key component of the COPSOQ III is a defined set of mandatory core items to be included in national short, middle, and long versions of the questionnaire. The second version of the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire
Aims: The aim of the present paper is to present the development of the second version of the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ II). Methods: The development of COPSOQ II took place in five main steps: (1) We considered practical experience from the use of COPSOQ I, in particular feedback from workplace studies where the questionnaire had been used; (2) All scales concerning workplace factors in COPSOQ I were analyzed for differential…
Self-Reported Stress and Risk of Endometrial Cancer
Stress may affect gonadal synthesis of estrogens and alter the sensitivity of the uterus toward estrogen stimulation. These mechanisms may explain the lower risk of endometrial cancer observed among stressed women in this study. Despite these results, stress may still be a risk factor for a range of other diseases and should therefore not be considered a healthy response

The Copenhagen Burnout Inventory
So far, the large majority of studies on burnout in the international literature have employed the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). In this paper we criticize the MBI on a number of points and present a new tool for the measurement of burnout: the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI). The CBI consists of three scales measuring personal burnout, work-related burnout, and client-related burnout, for use in different domains. On the basis of an ongoin…

Self rated health as a predictor of coronary heart disease in Copenhagen, Denmark
STUDY OBJECTIVE: To analyse the association between self rated health and the incidence of fatal and non-fatal coronary heart disease (CHD) in a Danish cohort followed up over 16 years. During the 16 years' follow up 50 cases of CHD were registered in either the…
Impact of work environment on cardiovascular diseases in Denmark
STUDY OBJECTIVE--The aim was to estimate the quantitative impact of working conditions on cardiovascular diseases in Denmark. DESIGN--The study was based on a review of recent epidemiological research publications in which relative risks were estimated and risk factor prevalences were determined. The impact of working conditions was quantified by means of aetiological fractions. SETTING--The aetiological fractions were estimated on the Danish pop…
