Studio Audience Discussion Programmes
A nationally representative sample (of some 3000 people aged 12 and over) was asked if they watched studio audience discussion programmes and, if so, how often and with what degree of appreciation. The 500 people who had seen such programmes (shown in morning hours or other off-peak times) were asked to indicate their perceptions of and involvement in the genre on 33 response items. In a study of diffusion of news about the Palme assassination, rate and amount of diffusion was investigated in four European countries (England, Germany, Hungary and Italy). First source of learning, as well as subsequent reactions and communication activities were also studied.
