  • Planetary health for health systems

Open Access•Nicole Redvers, Kyla Wright et al.•ARTICLE•PLOS Global Public Health•2025

Planetary health movements have advanced substantially within the last ten years with new frameworks and models being considered within health systems in varied contexts. Despite advancements, there continues to be an overall lack of accessible and regional- or field-specific planetary health frameworks to inform health systems. We carried out thirteen semi-structured inter…

Fifty-six studies ( N = 42,768 participants, 76 interventions) were included. Outcomes comprised selection ( n = 14), purchase ( n = 40) and consumption …

  • Experiences of Self-Monitoring in Self-Directed Weight Loss and Weight Loss Maintenance

    Open Access•Jamie Hartmann-Boyce, Anne-Marie Boylan et al.•ARTICLE•Qualitative Health Research•2019

The experience and role of self-monitoring in self-directed weight loss attempts may be distinctly different from that within formal interventions, and has yet to be fully explored. We systematically reviewed qualitative studies to examine experiences of self-monitoring as an aid to self-directed weight loss. Thematic synthesis was used to construct descriptive and analytical themes from the available data. In all, 22 studies (681 participants) w…

Jamie Hartmann-Boyce, Susan A Jebb et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•2015

We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis investigating the components and effectiveness of self-help weight-loss interventions and their applicability to less-advantaged populations. We searched (November 2013) for randomized controlled trials comparing self-help interventions with each other or with minimal controls in overweight and obese adults, with 6 months or longer follow-up. We calculated mean difference between intervention and…
