A Pilot Study to Examine Exposure to Residential Radon in Under-Sampled Census Tracts of DeKalb County, Georgia, in 2015
While DeKalb County, Georgia, offers free radon screening for all eligible residents, portions of the county remain relatively under-sampled. This pilot study focused on 10% of the census tracts in the county with the lowest proportion of radon testing; most were in southern DeKalb County. An urban health index (UHI) was used to quantify health inequalities within Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the years 2002-2010. Eight main health indicators were generated at the ward level using mortality data. The indicators were combined to form the index. To develop an operational approach to the identification of high risk gonorrhea transmitters, three groups of women infected with Neisseria gonorrhoeae (recent repeaters, routine discoveries, and women with pelvic inflammatory disease) were offered intensive casefinding services during an 18-month period.
