Reconsidering the Forres cross-slab (Sueno’s Stone), part 2
Standing over 6.5m high, the Forres cross-slab (NJ 04655 59533), erroneously known as Sueno’s Stone, is Scotland’s tallest early medieval carved stone monument. One side features a cross and ‘inauguration’, the other is covered with multiple military scenes. Although in format and general appearance the book conforms to a group of Irish pocket gospels, it is possible that the book was produced in Scotland, with Deer Abbey being the most likely location. EXAMINATION of the structure of the stone tower and excavation of it and of the associated earthworks at Lydford, Devon, revealed that the earliest structure, presumed to be the firme domus referred to in the Pipe Rolls for 1195, had been a free-standing, purpose-built gaol. All 223 psychiatric clinical tutors in the UK were surveyed on their use of DSM-111 in their postgraduate training programmes. Results indicate that DSM-III is widely used in clinical training to some extent in the majority of schemes (73%) and in the schemes where it is used it is rated as moderately useful by nearly everyone (93%).
