  • The Coyolxauhqui Imperative

    Open Access•T Stewart•ARTICLE•Culture Medicine and Psychiatry•2025•Referências: 14

The Coyolxauhqui Imperative offers a decolonial framework for reimagining trauma and healing in psychiatric practice by drawing on the Aztec myth of Coyolxauhqui's dismemberment and celestial transformation. Challenging Western biomedical assumptions of linear recovery and pathologization of fragmentation, this paradigm centers cultural epistemologies of nepantla (liminal space), conocimiento (embodied truth-telling), and mythic temporality (cycl…

  • Novel survey methods shed light on prehistoric exploration in Cyprus

    Open Access•T Stewart, Sarah T Stewart et al.•ARTICLE•Antiquity•2017•Referências: 2

Evidence for the earliest occupation of Cyprus (c. 11000-8500 cal BC) has been elusive as it often consists of small, diffuse and unobtrusive scatters of debris from stone tool manufacture. Yet tracing these sites is crucial if we are to understand how humans first explored the island, learned to exploit its resources and introduced useful flora and fauna from elsewhere. Our approach to this problem is to employ new methods of pedestrian survey a…

  • The Effects of Service-Learning Participation on Pre-Internship Educators’ Teachers’ Sense of Efficacy

Open Access•T Stewart, Kay W Allen et al.•ARTICLE•Alberta Journal of Educational…•2011

This study aimed to determine if pre-internship teacher education students’ participation in service-learning activities in K-12 classrooms would significantly affect their teachers’ sense of efficacy (TSE). A secondary focus sought to determine if one type of service-learning activity (e.g., whole-class instruction) would affect teacher efficacy more than another (e.g., small-group tutoring). Findings revealed that pre-internship service-learner…

  • Palestinian youth and non-formal service-learning

    T Stewart•ARTICLE•Development in Practice•2011•Citada por: 1•Referências: 7

Palestinian youth face developmental, cultural, and political barriers that impede them from fully engaging in civic life. Non-traditional, youth-centred pedagogies of engagement, like community-based service-learning, have shown their potential to motivate marginalised populations and provide space and roles for them to form individual identities while developing civic skills. Using data collected through focus-group interviews, this article con…

  • Detection Functions for Archaeological Survey

    Open Access•Edward B Banning, Alicia L Hawkins et al.•ARTICLE•American Antiquity•2006•Citada por: 5•Referências: 15

This paper presents the results of several experiments to investigate how the detection functions of surveyors vary for different artifact types on surfaces with differing visibility when visual surface inspection ('fieldwalking') is the survey method. As prospecting theory predicts, successful detection declines exponentially with distance away from transects and detection as a function of search time displays diminishing returns. However, these…

  • Global priority setting for Cochrane systematic reviews of health promotion and public health research

Jodie Doyle, E Waters et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Epidemiology and…•2005

The 26 priority titles provide an opportunity for potential reviewers and indeed, the Cochrane Collaboration as a whole, to address the previously unmet needs of global health policy and research agencies
