    Katherine T Flynn-O’Brien, Chethan Sathya et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•2024•Citada por: 1•Referências: 23

Objectives. To assess differences in contextual factors by intent among pediatric firearm injury patients and determine factors associated with data missingness. Methods. We retrospectively queried the American College of Surgeons Firearm Study database (March 1, 2021–February 28, 2022) for patients aged 18 years or younger. We stratified preinjury, firearm-related, and event-related factors by intent and compared them by using Fisher exact, χ 2 …

  • Public Bicycle Share Programs and Head Injuries

Janessa M Graves, Barry Pless et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•2014•Citada por: 4•Referências: 23

Objectives. We evaluated the effect of North American public bicycle share programs (PBSPs), which typically do not offer helmets with rentals, on the occurrence of bicycle-related head injuries. Methods. We analyzed trauma center data for bicycle-related injuries from 5 cities with PBSPs and 5 comparison cities. We used logistic regression models to compare the odds that admission for a bicycle-related injury would involve a head injury 24 month…
