  • Suds, LID, BMPs, WSUD and more – The evolution and application of terminology surrounding urban drainage

Tim D Fletcher, William D Shuster et al.•ARTICLE•Urban Water Journal•2015

The management of urban stormwater has become increasingly complex over recent decades. Consequently, terminology describing the principles and practices of urban drainage has become increasingly diverse, increasing the potential for confusion and miscommunication. Open Access•William Hunt, W F Hunt•ARTICLE•Transactions of the Royal…•1908

It is pleasant to be able to record that the year which has passed since our last anniversary meeting has seen our Society make satisfactory progress in all respects. Our numbers have increased. Our losses by death have been nine, and by resignation nine, and four names have been removed from our roll for non-payment of subscription. On the other hand, forty-two new Fellows have been elected, among them some whom we have special reason to welcome…

  • Presidential Address

    Open Access•William Hunt, W F Hunt•ARTICLE•Transactions of the Royal…•1907

The year which has passed since I last had the honour of addressing you at an anniversary meeting has been one of unusual importance in the history of our Society; it has seen the fulfilment of one of your Council's chief desires on its behalf. We have entered on the possession of a home, suitable to our purposes, not unworthy of our position as a Royal Society, and secured to us on terms which render it virtually permanent. Before this most desi…

  • Presidential Address

    Open Access•William Hunt, W F Hunt•ARTICLE•Transactions of the Royal…•1906

Before I enter on subjects which will be more interesting to you than my own feelings, please allow me to say that I am deeply conscious of the honour which the Council conferred upon me last year in electing me, and you in confirming their election of me, as your President, and of the fact that I both succeed and preside over men far more worthy than I am to occupy that place. My earnest hope is that the Society may so prosper during my term of …
