A Typology for Engaging Individuals in Crowdsourcing
Crowdsourcing is an open innovation mechanism by which organizations (seekers) tap into large groups of external individuals (solvers) to generate innovative ideas and solutions. To date, relatively little is known about open innovation at a more micro level than the firm, providing scarce insights into the role individuals (outside an organization) play in crowdsourcing. Yet, successful crowdsourcing depends on the activities and inputs of such …
Public crowdsourcing
Government organizations increasingly use crowdsourcing platforms to interact with citizens and integrate their requests in designing and delivering public services. Drawing on attribution theory, this study asks how the causal attributions of the government response to a citizen request affect continued participation in crowdsourcing platforms. To test our hypotheses, we use a 7‐year dataset of both online requests from citizens to government an…
An Examination of the Structural Properties of the Extremism Risk Guidelines (ERG22+)
This paper explores the construct validity and structural properties of the ERG22+ formulation tool, used in the assessment of risk and need in extremist offenders. The ERG22+ was developed from a clinical perspective, and was based on the small number of case studies and limited research evidence that were available at the time. It suggests three domains relevant to risk, namely Engagement, Intent, and Capability. These were originally offered a…
