Candidate Ethnicity and Vote Choice in Britain
This article develops and tests a set of theoretical mechanisms by which candidate ethnicity may have affected the party vote choice of both white British and ethnic minority voters in the 2010 British general election. Ethnic minority candidates suffered an average electoral penalty of about 4 per cent of the three-party vote from whites, mostly because those with anti-immigrant feelings were less willing to vote for Muslims. Trait-state interactions in the etiology of nightmares
Various personality and psychopathology traits are associated with nightmare frequency. This study investigated whether trait variables might also account for individual differences in the longitudinal relationship between daily mood and nightmare incidence each night. Forty-two participants (35 women, 7 men; mean age 40.10 years) reported having nightmares at least once per month and completed a 14-day dream and mood (anxiety and depression) log…

Alaska Native Drug Users and Sexually Transmitted Disease
Although Alaska has one of the highest rates of alcohol consumption in the U.S., there are very few reports of other drug use in Alaska. This five-year NIDA-funded study sampled out-of-treatment injection drug users (IDUs) and crack cocaine smokers in Anchorage, Alaska. Previous research on the mental health status of American Indian youth has documented rates of pathology that are higher than the rates for Caucasian youth.
