In the Finnish Healthy Village Study, the basic health profiles of working-aged people (20–64 years) were characterized in four rural villages in 1986. Professional Identities of Young Physicians
This report presents the results of a national survey of medical doctors carried out in Finland in 1988. Of the 1,745 physicians who completed the questionnaires, 48 percent worked in hospitals and 39 percent worked in primary care settings. An 18-item, 5-point Likert scale was used to assess the professional identities of the physicians. Finnish Healthy Village Study started in 1981 as an innovative local level health promotion project in a small Syvänniemi village in North Savo, Middle-Eastern Finland. Effects of low‐fat lactovegetarian diet on health parameters of adult subjects
Forty‐two healthy adult omnivorous subjects and 28 experienced lactovegetarians participated in this experimental study lasting for seven months, February through August. The objective was to assess the effects of a low‐fat, low‐vitamin D diet on health status indicators, in particular on serum concentrations of 25‐hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D].
