A Comprehensive Psychometric Examination of the Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Knowledge and Attitudes Scale for Heterosexuals (LGB-Kash)
Heterosexual attitudes toward individuals with other sexual orientations and identities, such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, asexual, etc. (LGBTQIA+), have been conceptualized as multidimensional and wide-ranging. With the objective of measuring these attitudes, Worthington and colleagues developed the Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Knowledge and Attitudes Scale for Heterosexuals (LGB-KASH). The Relationship between HIV Disclosure and Adjustment
In many cases, sharing the diagnosis of HIV can help people to adjust to their diagnosis. However, several factors may impede this process. A secondary data analysis of 50 HIV-positive adults found that African Americans delayed sharing their diagnosis with others longer than Euro-Americans. In addition, those who perceived more stigma against HIV took longer to tell someone and took longer to adjust to their diagnosis. Implications for practice …

Analysis indicated that those diagnosed longer with HI…
Competing Hypotheses of Missing Data among Older Adults
To explain missing data in a study of 83 older adults, hypotheses regarding fatigue and age were proposed, the former (fatigue) appearing more likely
Strengths and Barriers in Conducting Research among Older Adults with HIV
Interviews and field notes from a qualitative study of older adults with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) were analyzed to identify barriers and strengths to studying this population. Self-selection bias, recruiting people with high HIV-related stigma, and test-savvy individuals were potential barriers to research
Barriers and Aids in Conducting Research with Older Homeless Individuals
Field notes of a qualitative pilot study of older homeless people in Cincinnati identified several barriers and aids to the study of homeless elders. Identified research barriers were researcher's lack of contextual wisdom (street smarts), locating elders, substance abuse, attrition, victimization, credibility of informants, and xenophobia. Identified research aids were friendliness of certain elders, openness of the researcher, attractive incent…
Barriers to Use of Services by Older Homeless People
Analysis of responses during participant observation and face-to-face interviews of four homeless elders and six service providers indicated that the four elders comprehended and used the service environment; however, hopelessness (learned helplessness) appears to be the largest personal obstacle to use of such resources by elderly homeless persons to change their situation
Traits of Volunteers Preferred by Older Adults
Face-to-face interviews of 46 people 60 years or older indicated that promptness, friendliness, and kindness were attributes desirable in those who volunteer to perform services for older people
