  • New frontiers in tree-ring research

    Open Access•Jessie K Pearl, John R Keck et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2020•Citada por: 1•Referências: 32

From its inception as a scientific discipline, tree-ring research has been used as a trans-disciplinary tool for dating and environmental reconstruction. Tree-ring chronologies in some regions extend back many thousands of years, opening up new potential for the study of climate, people, and ecology at annual and sub-annual resolution. As such, they are a frequently used resource for a diverse range of studies spanning the Holocene. They are also…

  • Dating the Methuselah Walk Bristlecone Pine Floating Chronologies

    Matthew W Salzer, Charlotte L Pearson et al.•ARTICLE•Tree-Ring Research•2019

Two floating, ring-width chronologies predate the long bristlecone pine (Pinus longaeva) absolutely-dated, ring-width chronology from the Methuselah Walk (MWK) site in the White Mountains of California. The two non-overlapping floating chronologies were derived from samples that crossdate internally but are temporally unconnected to each other and to the nearly 9000-year, ring-width sequence that is crossdated to the calendar year. We used radioc…

  • Beneath the Basilica of San Marco

    Open Access•A J Ammerman, Charlotte L Pearson et al.•ARTICLE•Antiquity•2017•Citada por: 1•Referências: 8

  • Preface

    Open Access•Charlotte L Pearson, Steven L Kuhn•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2014

  • High-precision dendro-14C dating of two cedar wood sequences from First Intermediate Period and Middle Kingdom Egypt and a small regional climate-related 14C divergence

    Open Access•W Manning, Michael W Dee et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science•2014•Citada por: 11•Referências: 5

  • Potential for a New Multimillennial Tree-Ring Chronology from Subfossil Balkan River Oaks

Charlotte L Pearson, Tomasz Ważny et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2014•Citada por: 3•Referências: 59

A total of 272 oak ( Quercus sp.) samples have been collected from large subfossil trees dredged from sediment deposited by the Sava and various tributary rivers in the Zagreb region of northwestern Croatia, and in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Measurement series of tree-ring widths from these samples produced 12 groups, totaling 3456 years of floating tree-ring chronologies spread through the last ca. 8000 years. This work represents the firs…

  • Dendroarchaeology of the mid-first millennium AD in Constantinople

    Open Access•Charlotte L Pearson, Charlotte Pearson et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science•2012•Citada por: 8•Referências: 2

  • C Record and Wiggle-Match Placement for the Anatolian (Gordion Area) Juniper Tree-Ring Chronology ~1729 to 751 Cal BC, and Typical Aegean/Anatolian (Growing Season Related) Regional 14 C Offset Assess…

Open Access•W Manning, Bernd Kromer et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2010•Citada por: 14•Referências: 28

The East Mediterranean Radiocarbon (inter-)Comparison Project (EMRCP) has measured the 14 C ages of a number of sets of tree rings from the Gordion Area dendrochronology from central Anatolia at the Heidelberg Radiocarbon Laboratory. In several cases, multiple measurements were made over a period from the 1980s to 2009. This paper presents the final data set from this work (128 high-precision measurements), and considers (i) the relationship of t…

  • Dendrochemical analysis of a tree-ring growth anomaly associated with the Late Bronze Age eruption of Thera

    Open Access•Charlotte L Pearson, Charlotte Pearson et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science•2009•Citada por: 7•Referências: 3

  • New evidence for an early date for the Aegean Late Bronze Age and Thera eruption

    Open Access•W Manning, Sturt W Manning et al.•ARTICLE•Antiquity•2002•Citada por: 9•Referências: 19

The authors report on radiocarbon data derived from carefully selected organic material from Late Minoan IA and IB contexts. The results suggest that the accepted chronology of the period should be revised by 100 years and that the eruption of Thera/Santorini most likely occurred c. 1650-1620 BC
