In this article, I discuss three picture books about the Holocaust produced by Israeli, Flemish and Polish authors: Bear and Fred (2016), Een pop voor Hannah [A doll for Hannah] (2018), and Mama zawsze wraca [Mum always comes back] (2020). Voorspel van een gebroken liefde is een Vlaams prentenboek van Geert De Kockere (tekst) en Isabelle Vandenabeele (illustraties) uitgegeven in 2007. Op het achterplat van het boek staat het schilderij ‘Prologue d’un amour brisé’ van de Belgische expressionist Edgard Tytgat (1879-1957).
