Beyond the Uninsured
This paper investigates the difficulties that people encounter in their attempt to obtain needed health services, other than their third-party coverage or lack of it. These problems can be temporal, geographic, attitudinal, or financial (even with insurance). A state-wide sample survey conducted in 1989 revealed that about 17% of Michigan's population experienced one or more of these kinds of difficulties in their attempts to receive medical care…

We begin this volume by describing the structure of the HIV its life-cycle process mode of transmission and impact on the human immune system and other parts of the body. From there we proceed to a discussion of the major theories pertaining to the geographic origin of the HIV. We analyzed the ramifications and potential effects of a pending regulation that restricts Indian eligibility for health care. The most serious implication is a dwindling of support for Indian health care while the health of Indians continues to lag behind that of all other groups in the United States.
