Leaders for Manifest Destiny
As regimental commanders, American volunteer colonels were vital to their nation’s effort in the U.S.‐Mexican War, raising volunteer soldiers who agreed to serve outside U.S. boundaries. Fourteen of 63 colonels belonged to the Whig party, indicating that Whigs were not monolithic in opposing the war. Comparative Study of Persisters and Leavers in Seminary Training
The present research investigated the comparison of Rorschach responses of 152 male Catholic seminarians with the expected norms for the general adult population. The seminarians were also divided into two groups, 98 persisters and 54 leavers. A comparison of Rorschach responses between these groups was made by means of a univariate analysis of variance. Rorschach Content Analysis of the Use of Sexual Imagery by Catholic Seminarians
A random sample of 30 students was selected from those who entered seminary during three consecutive years. Rorschach protocols administered by experienced clinical psychologists were scored using Beck's method. Interscorer reliability ranged from .72 to .96 (Houck & Dawson, 1978) with an average of .89.
