  • The San Francisco Estuary, USA as a reference section for the Anthropocene series

    Open Access•Stephen Himson, Mark Williams et al.•ARTICLE•The Anthropocene Review•2023•Citada por: 2•Referências: 50

A San Francisco Estuary core was analysed at high resolution to assess its component stratigraphic signatures of the Anthropocene in the form of non-native species, Hg, spheroidal carbonaceous particles, δ13Corg, δ15N, radiogenic materials, and heavy metals. Time series analysis of the core using Ti data provides a chronology to depth 167 cm into the 1960s. Below this, to depth 230 cm, the lowermost part of the core may extend to the 1950s or pot…

  • Impact of climate change on mollusks and other invertebrate resources at the Dominican University of California archaeological site (CA-MRN-254), Marin County, California

    Open Access•Mary Mcgann, Charles L Powell•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2022

  • Selective transport of palynomorphs in marine turbiditic deposits

    Open Access•Mary Mcgann•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2018

  • Use of Mussel Casts from Archaeological Sites as Paleoecological Indicators

    Mary Mcgann, Scott W Starratt et al.•ARTICLE•California Archaeology•2016•Referências: 4

Archaeological investigations at prehistoric site CA-MRN-254 at the Dominican University of California in Marin County, California, revealed evidence of Native American occupation spanning the past 1,800 years. A dominant source of food for the inhabitants in the San Francisco Bay area was the intertidal, quiet-water dwelling blue mussel (Mytilus trossulus), although rare occurrences of the open coast-dwelling California mussel (Mytilus californi…

  • Late Quaternary pollen record from the central California continental margin

    Open Access•Mary Mcgann•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2015

  • Latest Quaternary paleoceanographic changes on the Farallon Escarpment off central California

    Open Access•Mary Mcgann•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2013

  • Paleoceanographic changes on the Farallon Escarpment off central California during the last 16,000 years
