Rural Labour Transitions in Punjab
This article examines the growth of rural non-farm employment in the light of changing employment patterns in Punjab. Caste and Agricultural Income Disparity in India
Using NSS 77th round data, this article highlights the plight of SC and ST farmers, who experience lower agricultural returns due to limited irrigation, institutional inputs, and economic constraints. SC farmers face even lower net returns than the ST farmers due to higher production costs, driven by systemic caste-based discrimination and economic marginalisation
Savings and Investment Behaviour in Rural India
The article examines the impact of the government’s Investor Awareness Program (IAP), which aims to enhance financial literacy and promote savings and investment awareness in rural India. The findings are based on primary data collected through a telephonic survey across 16 states, supplemented by a field survey in three states.
