Attributions regarding the nature, cause, and best treatment of mental health problems were examined in a total of 563 adults with serious mental illness from four ethnocultural groups, 185 family members, and 43 mental health practitioners. Samples of Americans of Japanese, Chinese, and European ancestry evidencing clinical levels of depression were administered a depression symptom checklist, and the results were submitted to a factor analysis. The relationship between depression and body-image satisfaction in different ethnic groups was investigated by comparing depressed and nondepressed males and females from Caucasian-American, Chinese-American, and Japanese-American college samples. Extent of Deprivation and Probability Learning Performance
The probability-learning performances of 4 groups of 12 rats at different reinforcement probabilities and extents of deprivation were compared. While these probabilities yielded different performances, the several deprivations did not. It was concluded that procedural variation between this and other studies of deprivation effects on choice performance may account for the failure to demonstrate drive differences on this task
