This systematic review examines recidivism outcomes among drug court programs that do and do not accept violent offenders. Patient Perspectives on Detox
Inpatient detoxification is often required before a client can move on to additional substance abuse treatment services. Although often short-term, time spent in inpatient detoxification tends to have long-lasting effects on the recovery process. As government welfare programming contracts and NGOs increasingly assume core aid functions, they must address a long-standing challenge-that people in need often belong to stigmatized groups. To study other-regarding behavior, we fielded an experiment through a text-to-give campaign in Greece. Donations did not increase with an appeal to the in-group (Greek child) relative to a control (child), but they were halved with reference to a stigmatize…

Rumors and Refugees
Although more than 800,000 displaced people arrived in Greece by sea in 2015, fewer than 5 percent applied for asylum in this first country of arrival. Instead, they either traveled northward informally or remained in Greece in legal limbo. The resultant chaotic conditions deprived many refugees of the benefits of asylum and formal relocation procedures, and also reduced the Greek government's popularity among natives.
