INTRODUCTION: Congressional legislation mandated research on intimate partner violence (IPV) among veterans. Collection of blood samples and concerns about genetic testing are obstacles for the recruitment of African Americans to pharmacogenomics studies. Efforts to overcome these barriers to participation are needed to improve representation of minorities in pharmacogenomic research. Enrolling participants from inpatient populations may be a solution to bolster recruitment efforts
Community providers’ experiences with evidence-based practices
The findings suggest that racial/ethnic minority therapists have positive experiences in implementing EBPs in community settings. In the case of Latinx therapists, bilingual/bicultural competence may facilitate adapting EBPs in ways that reduce perceptions of engagement challenges with racially/ethnically diverse clients. Geographic comparison of plant genera used in frugivory among the pitheciids Cacajao , Callicebus , Chiropotes , and Pithecia
Pitheciids are known for their frugivorous diets, but there has been no broad-scale comparison of fruit genera used by these primates that range across five geographic regions in South America. We compiled 31 fruit lists from data collected from 18 species (three Cacajao, six Callicebus, five Chiropotes, and four Pithecia) at 26 study sites in six countries. We studied a group of red howler monkeys ( Alouatta seniculus ) bordering a lake in an eastern Colombian Amazon rainforest for 10 months. The group used an area of 182 ha located mainly on Pleistocene terrace forest and had no overlap with other howler home ranges.
