  • Adiposity and reproductive characteristics across the lifespan

Open Access•Binyan Zhang, Baibing Mi et al.•ARTICLE•Reproductive Health•2026

BACKGROUND: Reproductive characteristics significantly shape physiological adaptations, little is known about how they relate to adiposity in women of multi-ethnic regions undergoing a rapid increase in obesity burden. This study aims to address this gap by assessing how reproductive patterns correlate with adiposity and identifying potential moderating factors among Chinese adults. METHODS: In 2018–2019, 107,679 participants from the Regional Et…

  • Grasp

Open Access•Xiangjun Cheng, Hongmei Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2026

Recent advances in land system research depend heavily on efficient access to large-scale, multi-source remote sensing spatiotemporal databases. Although Text-to-SQL provides natural language interfaces, the scale and spatial complexity of remote sensing schemas generate significant noise for large language models, increasing inference costs and latency. This study presents graph-enhanced retrieval for accurate schema pruning (GRASP), a graph-bas…

    Open Access•Miao Xiao-yan, Li Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Social Psychological and…•2026

Global crises pose common threats to diverse groups regardless of their relations, necessitating collaborative responses. However, previous research has underscored the influence of threat attributes on intergroup cooperative responses to common threats, overlooking the role of existing intergroup relations. Following the social identity approach, we proposed that existing intergroup relations shape the divergent effects of common threats on inte…

  • Declining Agglomeration Elasticities and the Geography of Urban Growth in China

    Open Access•Chao Li, John Gibson•ARTICLE•Urban Science•2026

China’s rapid economic growth is partly due to the productivity gains from agglomeration, whereby firms and workers in larger and denser cities benefit from proximity through knowledge spillovers, thicker labor markets, and shared infrastructure. This study examines the changing nature and location of agglomeration economies in China using resident-based measures of urban scale from the 2000, 2010, and 2020 population censuses. Chinese “cities” a…

  • Advertiser-First

Open Access•Ke Fang, Hao Liu et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2025

Online advertising has been the mainstream monetization approach for internet-based companies, in which bid optimization plays a crucial role in enhancing advertising performance. Currently, the bid optimization problem has narrowed down to two specific forms: Budget-constrained bidding (BCB) and Multi-constraint bidding (MCB). Existing solutions try to solve BCB/MCB via linear programming solvers, learning methods, or feedback control. However, …

  • Boosting Performance of Graph Convolutional Networks via Generating Pseudolabels and Feature Interaction

Open Access•Qiqi Zhang, Zhongying Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2025

The task of node classification based on graph convolutional networks (GCNs) is widely applied in many social media and e-commerce websites. In this context, rich node labels undoubtedly play a very important role. However, existing methods fail to generate high-quality pseudolabels that serve as a potential solution to alleviate label scarcity on graphs and reduce time-consuming annotation issues. Moreover, it is an interesting problem to boost …

However, relatively few studies have examined these racial dynamics in non-Western settings, despite the growing complexity and diversity of international student mobility, particularly within the Global South. To address this gap, this qualitative study investigates the experiences o…

George Maier, G W Maier et al.•ARTICLE•Weather, Climate, and Society•2014

Extreme heat is the leading weather-related killer in the United States. Vulnerability to extreme heat has previously been identified and mapped in urban areas to improve heat morbidity and mortality prevention efforts. However, only limited work has examined vulnerability outside of urban locations. This study seeks to broaden the geographic context of earlier work and compute heat vulnerability across the state of Georgia, which offers diverse …

  • Competing motivations and ditransitive encoding and ordering

    Chao Li•ARTICLE•Studies in Language•2015

The paper proposes that the three main ditransitive alignment patterns result from the competition between the Event Construal Constraint (ECC) motivated from event semantics and the Animacy(/Definiteness) Hierarchy Constraint (AHC) motivated from inherent role properties. The ECC and the AHC lead, respectively, to the Theme (T) and the Recipient (R) of a ditransitive verb being coded in the same way as the Patient (P) of a monotransitive verb. T…

Simplex causatives can be further classified into labile simplex causatives and non-labile simplex causatives, and complex causatives can be further classified into derivational, compounding, and inflectional complex causatives. It shows that it is possible for simplex causatives and some form of complex causatives to co-exis…
