Current international HIV testing guidelines recommend that HIV negative persons from HIV priority groups complete repeat screening every 3-6 months; local guidelines in our jurisdiction recommend that such retesting should occur every 3 months. Such an approach allows for timely HIV diagnosis and linkage to care - and aligns with the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets to have 95% of undiagnosed persons be aware of their HIV status. Heirs to World Culture
This volume brings together new scholarship by Indonesian and non-Indonesian scholars on Indonesia’s cultural history from 1950-1965. During the new nation’s first decade and a half, Indonesia’s links with the world and its sense of nationhood were vigorously negotiated on the cultural front. Indonesia used cultural networks of the time, including those of the Cold War, to announce itself on the world stage. International links, post-colonial asp…

Intercultural Expectations
When Robert Wilson's I La Galigo premiered in Singapore in 2005, intercultural expectations ran high. The commentary in Singapore and Indonesia after the event assessed the performance in terms of its meeting these expectations. But these judgments, often stated in cultural or nationalistic terms, blinded commentators to other forms of exchange pertinent to I La Galigo

Making Waves
Despite the Republic's policy of state monopoly of the airwaves during the Indonesian Orde Lama (Old Order) period (1945-1966), radio broadcasting in Indonesia has a strong tradition as local community activity. Today in Indonesia, private radio continues to flourish, with the number of stations increasing annually. In 1997, of a total of 898 radio stations in the country, seven hundred of them were private-all commercial, and all tailoring their…

Cultural policy and the performing arts in Southeast Asia
The influence of national government policy and structures for culture upon the shape and survival of pre-national 'traditional' performing arts in Southeast Asia has interested scholars for some time.1 Given the rapid economic, social, and political change in the region over the past fifty years, and the emergence from colonial domination of nations that state their new nationhood in cultural terms (against an arbitrary political unity imposed b…
