Open Access•Mei Chen, Song Wang et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2025

Community detection, an important research topic in complex network analysis, aims to discover the hidden structure and information within networks. The rapid growth in network size and the increasingly complex structures of networks have placed higher demands on community detection algorithms. To address this issue, this article proposes a core triangle motif-driven local community detection method named CoreTriM. CoreTriM initially selects targ…

  • Transformer-Based Anomaly Detection With Distributed Fiber-Optic Intelligence in End-Edge-Cloud Systems

Open Access•Song Wang, Zhengzhi Guo et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2025

Cyber–physical–social systems (CPSSs) emerged as a novel paradigm addressing the growing interactions among physical, social, and cyber domains. Many CPSS challenges were mathematically modeled as optimization problems, with a significant portion requiring multiobjective optimization approaches. To address inefficient learning caused by large-scale distributed sensor data in CPSS, a transformer-based anomaly detection framework for end-edge-cloud…

  • Consumer experience and perception in gamification marketing

Open Access•Jinyu Zhang, Yuyun Zou et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Communication•2025

Background Brand loyalty is crucial for brand marketing effectiveness. Typically, companies may struggle with user feedback and advertising impact, making it challenging to establish consumer habits and receive positive feedback. Open Access•Song Wang, Thomas J Bussey•ARTICLE•Education Sciences•2025

In the U.S., the retention of students in STEM degree pathways has been an issue that many higher education institutions have and continue to face. Many of us in the chemistry education community have been reflecting on our own roles and responsibilities to create a more inclusive learning environment for all students in chemistry. Culturally relevant pedagogy (CRP) and culturally responsive teaching (CRT) are two influential frameworks that info…

  • A network analysis of alexithymia, empathy, and suicidal ideation in Chinese adolescents with major depressive disorders

Open Access•Yudong Shi, Qing Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

By revealing DIF and PD as central therapeutic targets, this study demonstrates how network analysis can uncover intervention opportunities missed by traditional approaches. Clinically, targeting these nodes through emotion recognition training and distress tolerance interventions may disrupt the pathway to suicidality in adolescents with MDD

  • Pre-pandemic brain structure and Covid-19 fear

Open Access•Ting Zhang, Dongmei Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

The baseline bilateral insular GMV played a pivotal role in driving the level of fear during the peak of community outbreaks of COVID-19. Additionally, fear served as a crucial mediating factor influencing the association between insular and future psychological problems. These findings could aid in identifying vulnerable populations susceptible to fear during infectious disease outbreaks like COVID-19 and provide insights into identifying target…
