  • Moral smog effect

    Sijing Chen, S T CHEN et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2026

  • Second-Order Zero-Sum Misbeliefs

Open Access•Shasha Yang, Yongfang Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Personality and Social Psychology…•2025

Across 12 empirical studies ( N total = 2,615), this research systematically examined the stable tendency for individuals to overestimate others’ zero-sum beliefs, along with its underlying psychological mechanisms and behavioral consequences. Studies 1–3 and Supplementary Studies 1–4, using diverse experimental designs and measures, consistently showed that people tend to overestimate others’ zero-sum beliefs at both explicit and implicit levels…

  • Longitudinal Changes in Chinese Prosociality

Open Access•Sijing Chen, Shasha Yang•ARTICLE•Personality and Social Psychology…•2025

This article presents three studies using data from the World Values Survey , 128 published studies, and China Family Panel Studies to comprehensively examine the longitudinal dynamics of Chinese prosociality, encompassing prosocial attitudes, tendencies, and behaviors, with the overarching goal of shedding light on the evolving nature of prosociality in the Chinese context. These studies reveal a consistent pattern, illustrating a decline follow…

  • Lower Perceived Economic Mobility Inhibits Pro-Environmental Engagement by Increasing Cynicism

    Open Access•Shasha Yang, Yongfang Liu•ARTICLE•Social Psychological and…•2025

People’s environmental protection behavior largely depends on their perception of the economic and social environment. Through six studies, this article investigates the relationship between perceived economic mobility and pro-environmental engagement. Using the World Values Survey, Study 1 ( N = 59,948) found that lower mobility is linked to lower pro-environmental intentions. Studies 2 ( N = 243) and 3 ( N = 235) manipulated mobility in real an…

  • A Review of ArcGIS Spatial Analysis in Chinese Archaeobotany

Open Access•Zhikun Ma, Shasha Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary•2025

Over the past decade, the rapid development of geospatial tools has significantly expanded the scope of archaeobotanical research, enabling unprecedented insights into ancient plant domestication, agricultural practices, and human-environment interactions. Within the Chinese context, where rich archaeobotanical records intersect with complex socio-ecological histories, GIS-driven approaches have revealed nuanced patterns of crop dispersal, settle…

  • Perceptions of Economic Fairness Positively Affect Altruistic Punishment

Open Access•Shasha Yang, Sijing Chen et al.•ARTICLE•European Journal of Social…•2025•Citada por: 1•Referências: 77

Altruistic punishment involves punishers incurring costs to penalize norm violators for the benefit of the group or others. Through five studies, this article explored how and when perceptions of economic fairness affect altruistic punishment. Study 1 found a positive relationship between perceptions of economic fairness and two forms of altruistic punishment: Reporting Social Problems and Protesting Misbehaviour of Boss. Study 2 extended these f…

  • Causal association between air pollution and allergic rhinitis, asthma

Open Access•Juan Zhong, Weiye Li et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2024

Backgrounds Observational studies suggest that air pollutants, including particulate matter and nitrogen compounds, could elevate asthma and allergic rhinitis health risks. Nevertheless, the exact nature of the causal relationship between air pollution and asthma and allergic rhinitis remains unknown. This study utilizes the Mendelian randomization (MR) technique to explore the potential causal links between air pollution components (PM 2.5 , PM …

  • Underestimating others’ fertility attitudes and behaviors hinders the fertility intentions of childless individuals in Gen Z

Sijing Chen, CHEN Sijing et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2024

  • Subjective social class positively predicts altruistic punishment

Sijing Chen, Shasha Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2022

  • Normative misperception in third-party punishment

    Open Access•Shasha Yang, Sijing Chen•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2022

Punishment decisions might be guided by the norm of punishment, that is, people will implement their own punishment according to perceived prevalence of punishment in a similar social midst. However, there may be differences between an individual’s perception of norms and actual norms, which is called normative misperception. This article uses four experiments to explore the existence, the direction, and the cause of the normative misperception i…
