Researcher identities and values in the impact agenda
A major shift in the research sector has been the increased expectation from policymakers and funders that academic research should yield some socioeconomic benefits or ‘impacts’ rather than merely new knowledge. Papers were included in the review if they quantified time lags in the development of health interventions. The study identified 23 papers. In order to examine the prevalence of HIV infection and associated risk factors amongst Spanish female prostitutes a multicentre (n = 22) cross-sectional study was conducted between November 1989 and January 1991.
