Looking at Traditional Astronomies as if They Were Science
This paper considers the benefits, and limitations, of looking at the astronomical activities and concepts of other cultures as if they were scientific activities and concepts. In focusing on their scientific aspects, we cannot assume that either their methods or theoretical frameworks or purposes correspond to those of modern science.
