  • To Be Free of Poverty

    Hongxin Zhang•ARTICLE•Rural China•2021

While the deprivation of rights is among the roots of poverty, an analysis of issues pertaining to rights alone is insufficient for a proper understanding of and solution to the complex problem of poverty. • Visualizing structural “inverted pyramids” in English news discourse across levels

Hongxin Zhang, Haitao Liu•ARTICLE•Text and Talk•2016

Drawing on an analogy between discourse and syntactic trees, this paper chooses 359 Wall Street Journal articles with multiple paragraphs from the Rhetorical Structure Theory (RST) Discourse Treebank, and converts each discourse tree into three additional dependency ones, at discourse, paragraph and sentence levels, with exclusively elementary discourse units of clauses, sentences and paragraphs, respectively. It empirically tests and visually pr…

  • Rhetorical relations revisited across distinct levels of discourse unit granularity

    Open Access•Hongxin Zhang, Haitao Liu•ARTICLE•Discourse Studies•2016•Citada por: 1•Referências: 30

In accordance with the compositionality criterion and hierarchy principle of Rhetorical Structure Theory (RST), this study reframes each tree in the RST Discourse Treebank into three new dependency trees with ultimate nodes being clauses, sentences, and paragraphs, respectively, which also draw on an analogy between syntactic and discourse trees. Detailed percentages of various RST relations at the three granularity levels are examined, illuminat…

  • Asynchronous Threshold ECDSA With Batch Processing

Hongxin Zhang, Guanghuan Xie et al.

Threshold Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) has attracted a lot of attention due to the wide applications of ECDSA in crypto asset. Although several variants of threshold signature protocols can provide functions, such as key generation and signing, they suffer from two shortfalls. First, these schemes only discuss a single signature computation task in a synchronous algorithm context, which is difficult to adapt to real crypto-a…
