Identifying Populations with High Opioid Use Disorder Public Stigma
The United States is facing an ongoing opioid epidemic. Despite tragic outcomes and the availability of effective treatments, only a small proportion of people with opioid use disorder (OUD) receive care. A primary barrier to treatment is public stigma. Rural communities in the U.S. face multiple mental health challenges, with lack of accessible, acceptable services, skepticism towards those outside the community, and stigma towards help-seeking. Treatment-resistant schizophrenia can create a high disease burden for some patients, making it challenging for all involved to navigate a good outcome. Such cases require physicians to regard symptom eradication and treatment success as the same. An Early Dynastic Quarry for Stone Vessels at Gebel Manzal El-Seyl, Eastern Desert
The quarry that supplied two of the stones used for vessels during the Early Dynastic Period, green tuff and tuffaceous limestone, has been found on Gebel Manzal el-Seyl in Egypt's Eastern Desert. Scattered across this 3 km long ridge are about 200 excavations, and littering the ground around them are hundreds of roughed-out vessel blanks, several of which are inscribed with the sign ∩.
