The association of smoking with perception of income inequality, relative material well-being, and social capital
Working women in the sex industry and their perception of risk from HIV/Aids
The present research project provided women who are normally marginalized by society with an opportunity to give their opinions on health matters, that are directly related to their working and personal lives. Discussion groups were held with women working in saunas or massage parlors (the sex industry) to obtain their views on sexual health and the risk of infection from the human immunodeficiency virus. Their interest in so doing was to see if the answers had curricula implications for the Schools of Social Work. The s…
Transient Induction of Phenylalanine Ammonia-Lyase and 4-Coumarate
Infection of potato leaves with the fungal pathogen Phytophthora infestans (Pi) resulted in the rapid stimulation of phenylpropanoid metabolism. Increases in the activities of several mRNAs, including those encoding phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) and 4-coumarate:CoA ligase (4CL), were detectable within a few hours postinoculation, as demonstrated by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis of proteins synthesized in vitro. This effect was closely m…

The schematic two‐dimensional plotting of the spatial relationships among somatotypes
Aging Medicine is an open access journal for international collaboration in multiple research disciplines across the aging sciences. The American Journal of Biological Anthropology is a physical anthropology publication, accepting evolutionary articles in bioarcheology, human & primate biology, & more
