  • The Relationship Between Social Media Use and Creativity

Open Access•C Yang, Tianwei Xu et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Creative Behavior•2026•Referências: 120

In the digital era, social media continues to consume an increasing share of individuals' time and attention. As a result, the association between social media use (SMU) and creativity has garnered growing interest in both public discourse and academic research, although empirical findings remain inconsistent. We conducted a meta‐analysis of 31 studies (71 effect sizes, total N = 10,156) to examine the relationship between SMU and creativity. The…

  • Developmental differences in generalizable neural representations driven by multiple emotional and cognitive tasks

Lei Hao, Tianwei Xu et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2025

  • Family Social Environment and Emotional Health

Open Access•B Jin, Xianzhe Li et al.•ARTICLE•Emerging Adulthood•2025

Early adversity experiences have been linked to poor mental health outcomes in both adolescence and adulthood. This study investigates the interplay of the family social environment (FSE) with emotional regulation, mental health, and stress-sensitive brain structures, as well as the development of these brain structures during young adulthood. A total of 737 young adults (mean age = 19.5 years) participated in the study, with a subset of 503 indi…

  • Neural basis underlying the association between openness/intellect and scientific creativity achievement

Open Access•Yi Wang, Tianwei Xu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Psychology•2025

Scientific creativity is vital for cultivating higher-order thinking skills and preparing students for a rapidly evolving world. Research consistently highlights Intellect as a key driver of scientific creativity. However, the neural mechanisms underlying scientific creativity and the pathways through which Intellect contributes to it remain underexplored. This study utilized voxel-based morphometry (VBM) in a large sample to investigate the neur…

  • Understanding the dual role of individual position in multidimensional social support networks and depression levels

    Open Access•Chuyao Peng, Xiaoya Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Social Science & Medicine•2025•Referências: 46

  • Age and estimated glomerular filtration rate in Chinese older adults

Open Access•Ying Jiang, Qingqing Cao et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2024

Objectives: This study aimed to fill the data gap of the course of renal function decline in old age and explore changes in renal function across different health states with increasing age. Methods: This observational, retrospective, single-center cohort study included 5,112 Chinese older adults (3,321 men and 1,791 women, range 60-104 years). The individual rate of estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) decline was analyzed using linear mi…

  • Validation of the I- and D-type epistemic curiosity scale among young Chinese children and implications on early curiosity nurture

Open Access•Shuāng Táng, Tianwei Xu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Psychology•2024

Curiosity, an innate and intrinsic motivation to explore, makes vital contributions to learning in individuals of various ages. Epistemic curiosity centers on the drive to close information gaps and can be classified into joyous exploration and interest (I) and deprivation sensitivity (D) types. Each subtype is associated with different academic achievements, personality traits, emotions, and aspects of creativity. Building on the concept of epis…

  • Age-related differences in the number of chronic diseases in association with trajectories of depressive symptoms

Open Access•Jinghong Huang, Tianwei Xu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Participants with middle age may play a promoting role in the association between the number of chronic disease and severe depressive symptoms. The severe depressive symptoms intervention may be more beneficial for middle-aged adults

  • The role of familial factors and neuroticism in the association between exposure to offensive behaviors at work and long-term sickness absence due to common mental disorders - a prospective twin study

Open Access•Maria Wijkander, Pia Svedberg et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Exposure to work-related offensive behaviors was associated with SA due to CMDs. However, the results indicated that these associations may be partly confounded by familial factors. In addition, an interaction between exposure and neuroticism was suggested. Thus, when possible, future studies investigating associations and causality between offensive behaviors at work and mental health-related outcomes, should consider familial factors and neurot…

  • Association between intergenerational contact and cognitive function in middle-aged and older Chinese adults

Open Access•Huihui He, Suhang Wang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Functional disability and depressive symptoms may partly explain the association between intergenerational contact and cognitive function. Further research is needed to explore the mechanisms underlying the association between intergenerational contact and cognitive function
