Sick Enough? Mental Illness and Service Eligibility for Homeless Individuals at the Border
This paper measures mental illness among individuals experiencing homelessness in a border city and compares it to the general housed population. We use original data from a homeless survey conducted in El Paso, Texas. Respondents self-reported any possible mental illness or related symptoms. Social Service Workers’ Knowledge of and Attitudes Toward Fair Housing Laws
The purpose of this study was to explore social service workers’ awareness, knowledge, and attitudes about fair housing in Utah. Using a fair housing awareness scale, a fair housing knowledge scale, a fair housing attitude scale, and fair housing vignettes, 195 social service workers were surveyed in Utah. This article compares Hispanic and non-Hispanic homeless populations in El Paso, Texas.
