Death Rates of Aged Blacks and Whites, United States, 1964–1978
A comparison of mortality trends among aged blacks and whites in the United States is presented. Specifically age-adjusted death rates of elderly blacks and whites are compared for the period from 1964 to 1978. The analysis is carried out separately for all causes of death and for selected specific causes of death. The study is based on official data from the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics.
