Fears of Child Protective Services in a Disadvantaged Migrant Group
Parents from stigmatized and disadvantaged migrant groups often fear losing their children to Child Protective Services (CPS). Based on ethnography with Norwegian Somalis, this paper examines how such fears arise. This article explores Norwegian-Somali parents’ motivation for returning to Somalia, how life has unfolded in the face of their return and how they are preparing for their future return to Norway.
