An original example in Provence of Recent/Late Neolithic collective burial
Discovered in 2006, a collective burial, located at 200 m, north of the site Collet-Redon, in la Couronne, was excavated during two campaigns in 2014 and 2015. Découverte en 2006, une sépulture collective, située à 200 m au nord du site de Collet-Redon à La Couronne (Bouches-du-Rhône), a fait l’objet de deux campagnes de fouilles en 2014 et 2015. Localisée dans le fond du vallon des Chappats dont l’activité sédimentaire a permis sa conservation, elle est implantée dans une fosse et bénéficie d’un dispositif bâti et d’un pavage. Les outils à cupules, marqueurs de la métallurgie du district de Cabrières-Péret (Hérault) au Chalcolithique
Les outils à cupules en provenance des aires de métallurgistes chalcolithiques du district minier de Cabrières-Péret dépassent désormais 150 exemplaires. L’étude de 116 de ces objets nous a permis de définir leur composition pétrographique, de procéder à leur classification en plusieurs morphotypes et de caractériser les traces plurielles de leur utilisation dans un contexte minier-métallurgique. Holocene vegetation responses to fire events in the inner French Alps (Queyras Massif)
Travertines are calcareous deposits that result from water stream saturation in bicarbonate; they are extremely sensitive to environmental variations. Homeostatic conditions, such as a good development of vegetation and regular river flow, induce the formation of homogenous travertine facies enclosing plant imprints. Travertines are carbonate deposits formed generally during temperate climatic periods. They usually present a succession of travertinous units and detrital sedimentary levels containing leaf impressions and charcoal, respectively. Two hydraulic mills from the Roman era have been uncovered in 1984 and 1996 during rescue excavations carried out in the department of Var, one in the villa of Saint-Pierre /Les Laurons (Les Arcs), one in the villa of Les Mesclans (La Crau).
