  • Identifying historical fuel sources through anthracology and combustion markers

Open Access•Sara Saeidi Ghavi Andam, Kristin Haas et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science…•2025•Referências: 2

  • The role of fire in the Medieval and Early Modern landscape of Bad Waldsee within the broader context of the pre-Alpine forelands of south-western Germany

Open Access•Sara Saeidi Ghavi Andam, Elena Marinova et al.•ARTICLE•Vegetation History and…•2023•Citada por: 1•Referências: 7

Fire, an important element of human land use strategies, was part of many early industrial activities but also of burning incidents that significantly impacted settlement structures and development. The spatial proximity of the historically well-documented medieval town and sediment archive deposited in its central lake (Stadtsee) was taken to investigate the interplay of fire and socio-environmental developments during the preindustrial phase of…

  • New insights into the age of aeolian sand deposition in the northern Upper Rhine Graben (Germany)

Open Access•Dorthe Pflanz, Alexander Kunz et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2022

  • Postglacial alluvial fan dynamics in the Cordillera Oriental, Peru, and palaeoclimatic implications

Open Access•Kevin Ratnayaka, Ralf Hetzel et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2019

Alluvial fans record climate-driven erosion and sediment-transport processes and allow reconstructing past environmental conditions. Here we investigate the sedimentation history of two alluvial fans located in formerly glaciated valleys of the Cordillera Oriental, Peru. 10 Be exposure ages from the fan surfaces and radiocarbon ages from the fan interiors constrain the final stages of fan formation. The 10 Be and 14 C ages cluster mainly between …

  • Heating mollusc shells - A radiocarbon and microstructure perspective from archaeological shells recovered from Kalba, Sharjah Emirate, UAE

Open Access•Susanne Lindauer, Stefania Milano et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science…•2018•Citada por: 1•Referências: 15

  • HLO 1‐south

    Open Access•Margarethe Uerpmann, Hans‐peter Uerpmann et al.•ARTICLE•Arabian archaeology and epigraphy•2018•Citada por: 5

Site HLO 1 (Sharjah, UAE ), situated in a particularly favourable geographical position, has provided an extraordinary range of anthropogenic radiocarbon dates, spanning before 8000 to Zero BCE . The Neolithic is represented by finds from the eighth to the fifth millennium BCE . Apart from the dated fireplaces, however, there are almost no typical artefacts of this period. Small stone structures appear to have been early Neolithic graves. A middl…

  • Investigating the Local Reservoir Age and Stable Isotopes of Shells from Southeast Arabia

Open Access•Susanne Lindauer, Soraya Marali et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2017•Citada por: 5•Referências: 34

We recently started a systematic approach to determine the reservoir age in southeast Arabia and its dependence on mollusk species and their environment. This part of the study concentrates on local reservoir age and stable isotopes of the lagoonal species Terebralia palustris and Anadara uropigimelana at Khor Kalba, Oman Sea. Environmental and nutritive influences on mollusks are reflected in the radiocarbon and stable isotope signal. We found a…
