  • Sensitivity analysis workflow to address landslide susceptibility model variability

    Open Access•Hudson J Koch, Jason M Dortch et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2026

Contemporary landslide susceptibility modeling commonly utilizes machine learning (ML) approaches and algorithms. These modeling approaches typically use landslide inventories as a primary component, along with a conditioning feature selection method. Although model results may be sensitive to variability in input data, resulting effects are seldom investigated in detail. We leveraged a susceptibility approach based on logistic regression (LR) to…

  • Rapid age assessment of glacial landforms in the Pyrenees using Schmidt hammer exposure dating (SHED)

    Open Access•Matt D Tomkins, Jason M Dortch et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2018

Schmidt hammer (SH) sampling of 54 10 Be-dated granite surfaces from the Pyrenees reveals a clear relationship between exposure and weathering through time (n=52, R 2 =0.96, P 10 Be-SH calibration curve, 100 surfaces were sampled from five ice-front positions in the Têt catchment, eastern Pyrenees, with results verified against independent 10 Be and 14 C ages. Gaussian modelling differentiates Holocene (9.4±0.6 ka), Younger Dryas (12.6±0.9 ka), O…

  • Quaternary paleoenvironmental change and landscape development in Tibet and the bordering mountains

    Open Access•Chaolu Yi, Jason M Dortch et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2011

  • Quaternary glaciation in the Nubra and Shyok valley confluence, northernmost Ladakh, India

    Open Access•Jason M Dortch, Lewis A Owens et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2010

Three glacial stages (Deshkit 1, Deshkit 2 and Dishkit 3 glacial stages) are identified in the Nubra and Shyok valleys in northernmost Ladakh, northwest India, on the basis of geomorphic field mapping, remote sensing, and 10 Be terrestrial cosmogenic nuclide surface exposure dating. The glacial stages date to ∼ 45 ka (Deshkit 1 glacial stage), ∼ 81 ka (Deshkit 2 glacial stage) and ∼ 144 ka (Deshkit 3 glacial stage). A mean equilibrium line altitu…
